The audiovisual content and Project presented here transcripts several texts dating from one to five centuries ago; originally written in Spanish, about the sources and mythological and cultural roots of European, African and native American peoples in American continent. This transcription seeks a dialogue between visuals (photography, drawings and animations), and music coming from these same three cultural sources, in short digital audiovisual formats, resuming a process of researching cultural and environmental living and contemporary expressions. This presence of rites, celebrations and original graphic stories and archive files in final product, have as primary objective the strengthening of a cultural dialogue through the dissemination of poetry, literature, philosophy and politics concerning the overall situation of land, cultural sensitivity of the educative systems and environmental sustainability of various projects of habitability in planet earth. Currently, Babel Times is an aesthetic initial project in a wide scope of divulgation; and in construction to begin to form networks of concepts and images that can enrich the transit towards media opening to dialogue on devices for research and creation that seeks to transcend the ideas of public and casting of media products, to make horizontal social relations into real and busy channels of vital and human exchange.

The alternatives in the use of the resources involved in the continuation of this research project can be designed as a qualification of the documentary material (visits in geographical regions of larger scale, better gadgets of registration), within a social research device of aesthetic and cultural transmission. Babel Times is an audiovisual project directed to people interested in cultural exchange and knowledge of the diversity of resources for human well-being.

Why do we need money?

The costs of a process of expansion of the current audiovisual material include the professional fees and expenses of a social psychologist and an audiovisual artist, as well as a possible improvement of the gadgets of registration and publication. The entire process form initial contacts (two weeks), initial design of research instruments (one week), fieldwork (four weeks), audiovisual post-production and consolidating networks of communication between Colombian ethnics communities and the members of crowdfunding, would have a total duration of eight weeks (56 days).

Now…
The project currently has the initial diffusion in itinerant audiovisual heritage festivals, also in urban travelling video festivals in Colombia and Spain.

Others ways of finacing.
There are present conventional ways such as the distribution of digital copies of made work, as well as the creation of self-sustaining networks with Colombian ethnic communities and others ways of exchange.

When the project will be.
The project would develop in the months of November and December of the present year, primarily as an ethnographic research into the interior of Andean ritual celebrations.

About the author
Son of my parents and father of my three old son. I was born a july 5 in cali, Colombia. Currently I am finding fullness in the silence, and in the evolution of a method that enables us to dawn forces of beautiful and fair in paradoxes. I sought to build my inmediate future on the road of real opportunities to love and meeting. I enjoy work, dance and chess. I am researcher in the artistic powers of graphics and music that remains in the life of peoples in American continent. I have recently been entitled as psychologist at National University of Colombia, and I am developing a research proposal of audiovisual creation that seeks to interpret possibilities of cultural communication and dialogue between the actual and the ancient America. This project is called BABEL TIMES; a proposal for reinventing the dissemination of native, afrocolombian and popular philosophy in the first instance. For two consecutive years, two different pieces of this small audiovisual project have been selected as pieces of itinerant audiovisual sample in DAUPARA and Ministry of Culture festival. It has also been selected this year as part of VIDEOPOLIS travelling urban video festival in Barcelona, Spain. My proposal here goes in the direction of developing this project; taking this initial audiovisual material to give way to cultural dialogue and construction. To make this, I use a research line exposed in current scientific scene in Colombia. The theoretical document that supports is a piece of firsat international congress of psychology of the Colombian college of psychology, and exposes the idea of gap between popular mass culture and official educative system. This document is called “Communication and ancestral memory in audiovisual production of school Colombian communities”, and was presented in Cartagena de Indias, in November of 2009. In this document, and in this crowdfunding proposal, I propose a research methodology in the mutual relations between official system o representation and the dynamics of ethnics Colombian communities, so that from there to formulate and carry out an audiovisual process that be able to revert rapidly in a cultural response own to Colombian culture.
